Update Notes - May 17th, 2024

Build: Pre-Alpha Demo Season 2 Version No: 2024051604 Hello Nyans! We have added new audio to highlight the audio direction we are going for in Nyan Heroes and to provide a more immersive Battledome experience. We have also included fixes that address several bugs and issues reported by some players. Restart your Epic Game Launcher to get the update. Please remember to always run the Epic Games Launcher as Administrator when playing Nyan Heroes. You can do this by right-clicking on the Epic Games Launcher icon and select ‘Run as administrator’.

Bug Fixes

Matchmaking

  • Fixed an issue that occasionally caused some members of a party to not join the queue.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the ‘Ready’ button to be greyed out sometimes.

UI

  • Fixed the Mission Timers to display the correct daily/weekly reset time.

  • Fixed a visual bug that showed losing MMR after winning a game.

Gameplay

General

  • Removed a bug that sometimes caused a player to play in really slow motion.

Weapons

  • Fixed a bug that caused Legionnaire (Sniper) & Malice (shotgun) to get stuck in a reloading animation.

  • Fixed an issue that caused some players to spawn without a main weapon sometimes.

Audio

General

  • Added environmental music when capture objectives are activated.

  • Made changes to previous matchmaking rules.

  • Increased the maximum range of MMR scores allowed when matchmaking with other players.

  • Decreased acceptable latency ranges when looking for a match.

  • Changed the amount of time looking for a match before expanding acceptable range limits.

Known Issues

Hotfix - May 10th, 2024

Hello Nyans! We will be bringing down the servers to deploy a hotfix to the game. The game will be offline at May 10, 2024 11:00 AM. The maintenance should take approximately 60 mins to complete, but may be available sooner. Below is a list of changes to the game:

  • Maxmimum Party size is increased from 2 to 6.

  • Decreased Jaguar (off-hand pistol) damage.

  • Dynamic respawn is activated.

    • Your respawn timer is reduced the longer you spend alive as a Cat.

    • Default respawn timer is 20 seconds.

  • Backfill is enabled, but you won't lose MMR if you join a match in progress and lose.

  • Some Event Missions have been replaced.

    • Removed Wallrun, Airborne and Class Missions

    • Replaced with Weapon Missions.

Ranked Mode

Our new Matchmaking Rating system is here! Players will earn or lose points depending on the outcome of each game. As players gain more points, they will be promoted to higher ranks. All games during Season 2 are ranked and ‘Quickplay’ is disabled.

How Ranked Is Played

  • Each player starts out as ‘Unranked’.

  • Players must complete 10 placement matches to determine their initial rank.

  • Players gain points by winning games and having good performance. Subsequently, players will lose points for losing a game.

  • During Ranked Mode, parties are limited to 2 players (party leader and 1 party member).

  • Players who leave a match after it starts will receive a heavy MMR penalty.

General Updates

Matchmaking

  • Matches will not start until both teams are full. If players disconnect during the warm-up phase, the game will attempt to backfill those disconnected players. If the lobby cannot be filed, all players will return back Main Menu with no penalties.

  • Improved the AFK detection system. Players will now be kicked when certain inactivity conditions are met.

  • Added punishment for early leavers.

UI

  • Updated Leaderboard to include MMR and rank icons.

  • Default sorting is now by Rank.

  • The ‘re-mech’ icon will now flash every time a Pilot deals damage to an enemy.

  • The player names of the opposing team is now revealed only after a match begins.

  • Increased the size of player names, making it more visible.

Guardians

Ghost

  • Turret damage has been reduced.

  • Turret will only target Pilots (Cat) if the player attacks it first.

Spartan

  • Adjusted the rate of fire for Frenzy for Shotgun and Sniper Rifle.

  • Fixed an interaction issue caused by Spartan's Charge ability.

Gameplay

Weapons

  • Removed the knockback from Hellfire & PurrBomb Launcher.

  • Increased baseline rate of fire for Malice (Shotgun).

Art

  • Small environmental art updates including a lighting and optimization pass.

Security

  • Integrated Easy Anti-Cheat into the game.
