Playtest 4 is here, and it’s our biggest update yet. Dive into a brand new game mode, experience the all-new MODS system, try out our latest Guardian (Gizmo), and enjoy tons of quality-of-life upgrades, map enhancements, and performance improvements. Here's everything you need to know:
CONTENT/FEATURES
AUDIO
New music theme for Tokyo map.
Updated voice lines for Cat Pilots, match start/end, and in-game events.
GAME MODE
A fast-paced, tactical ball-control mode—only available on the Tokyo map during this playtest. Players must deliver the ball to the enemy’s goal. First team to 5 points will claim victory!
Guardians can pick up the ball while holding ‘F’.
Players can throw the ball by press ‘F’ again. The longer you hold ‘F’, the further you throw it.
While holding the Fishball, your movement ability is disabled.
Sudden Death Mode: In Fishball, if the clock reaches 00:00 and the score is tied the game will enter Sudden Death. Cat Pilot respawn is disabled and the game ends when one team scores a goal or an entire team is eliminated.
GAMEPLAY
Text & Voice Chat
In-game text chat has been added to the game.
Text chat is turned off by default. You can enable by going to Settings > Gameplay and switch Text Chat to “Enabled”.
Keybinds
Removed the Sprint keybind in the game. It is now the default running speed.
Guardian’s movement ability keybind has changed from ‘Left Control’ to ‘Left Shift’.
GUARDIAN & CAT PILOTS
NEW - Mechanic (Gizmo): has been added to the game.
Ability:
Scavenger - Collect scrap from defeated enemies to gain temporary bonus armor.
Magnetic Platform - Throws a platform that vaults into the air when stepped on, providing additional protection.
Dynamic Ability:
Sentry - Deploys up to 3 turrets, each cloning your primary weapon.
Ultimate Ability:
Scrap Goliath - Summon a giant statue that spawns pieces of magnetic scrap around it. This scrap will provide temporary bonus armor to allies or deal explosive damage to enemies.
Assassin (Ghost)
Updated Ghost’s abilities to better align with his intended playstyle.
Ability:
Distortion: Creates a vision-blocking reality distortion that hides teammates.
Ultimate Ability
Dark Daggers: Ghost now throws 3 daggers that do large area of effect damage.
Medic (Seraph)
Ability
Glitch: Added new sfx when going invisible.
MAP
New Map: Tokyo
Urban level design with chokepoints and cover.
Available only in Fishball mode during this playtest.
MODS SYSTEM
Equip active and passive upgrades to your Guardians with the improved MODS feature.
Each Guardian has 25 Memory Units to spend on MODS.
MODS come in 5 rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary.
MODS can be leveled up to a maximum Level 5 to increase their effectiveness.
Effects include health boosts, lifesteal, explosive AoEs, overshields, and more.
MODS are earned after each match. Winning a match guarantees a mod, while losing a match has a 50% chance to drop.
Explore the MODS system via the WIP Mods menu, and save your loadouts before heading into battle.

ONLINE
Matchmaking Improvements:
Made numerous improvements to load balancing and queue management.
Matchmaking will prioritize matching grouped players with other grouped players first.
The queue will attempt to find an opposite party of the same size (for example 3v3 or 6v6 etc.)
After a certain period of time, if the queue is unable to find an equal-matching party, then it will the match with individual players.
The queue will not create matches where a party has more than 1 player than the other team (6v3, 5v3, 4v1, etc.).
Please note: During Playtests where player numbers are limited, you may not always be matched up against an equal team. We will monitor this throughout the playtest.
Player ping visibility now enabled.
Pub-Sub backend system added for better real-time performance.
OPTIMIZATION
Camera Refactor: Improved anti-cheat, projectile accuracy, and visual clarity while cleaning up unused assets.
Game Mode Refactor: Simplified game mode logic into a single blueprint for faster iteration and easier round progression.
General Ability Refactor: Unified placement-based abilities for better consistency, faster bug fixes, and easier prototyping.
Load/Unload Streaming Level System: Rebuilt level streaming to improve performance and scalability across game modes.
Stronghold Refactor: Cleaned up logic and integrated new systems to make Stronghold easier to maintain and test.
MISSION & REWARDS
Daily Missions: Refresh at 19:00 UTC with 8 randomized tasks (complete 6 for bonus).
Weekly Missions: Refresh every Thursdays at 19:00 UTC.
End of Match Rewards now include MOD boxes.

HUD Redesign
Mechanic Selection + Loadout Screens: New pre-match class and gear setup.

Secondary Weapons
Clawzi: Precision-based weapon suited for Cat Pilots.
Shortfuse: Burst-fire close-range shotgun.

KNOWN ISSUES
We’re aware of the following issues and our development team is actively working on fixes. Your experience is important to us, and we appreciate your patience as we continue to improve the game. If you encounter any problems not listed here, please report them through our support channels.
[Camera][Weapons] - Projectile spawn points can be blocked with certain camera angles when backed against a wall
[Animation][Characters] - Advanced locomotion moves are missing when a match is found but the window was not in focus during loading
[Clawzy][Animation] - Clawzy auto-reload on empty magazine triggers twice
[Engine][Performance] - On 1080p resolutions FPS do not change regardless of graphics settings
[Neo Tokyo][Fishball] - Debug trace lines stay visible on the fishball when the mech picks it up while a pilot is mounted on the mech.
[Turret][Magnetic Platform] - Turret placed on a raised platform will not keep the platform lifted after the player jumps off
[Fishball][Magnetic Platform] - Ball gets pushed through the ground if a platform descends on top of it
[Warlock][Portal][Arcane Field][ADS] - The portal ability hologram is triggered by pressing the "E" key while aiming down sights (ADS) with any weapon.
[VFX][Scout] - The pilot Voltage rush VFX and SFX remain permanently in place if activated after remech
[Addons][Weapons][Early Access] - Legionnaire cannot ADS after 'Static Field' activation
[Addons][VFX] - 'Aegis' pilot shield becomes bigger after mounting an ally
[Addons] - 'Static Field' can root players in Glitch
[Addons][Smoke] - Killer Instinct detects players through enemy smoke
[Scout][EMP Plunge][OOB] - While ultimate is active, all doorways act as bridge interactions, making Scout be able to climb on top of buildings into OOB
[EMP Plunge][Ancient Temple][Area 2] - The EMP Plunge ultimate ability can be activated on the walls in Area 2 of the Ancient Temple map.
[Mechanic][Scrap Goliath][ADS] - The mechanic aim down sights while canceling the ultimate ability.
[Weapons][Mechs] - Enemies do not take damage in the elbow/feet if they are very close to the player
[Weapons] - Constantly changing between weapons and shooting does no damage to enemies
[Healing Bullets][Abilities] - Healing Bullets can interact with friendly mechanic placeable objects
[Ghost][Smoke Augment] - Enemies can briefly see the opponent while entering the smoke
[Ghost][Smoke Augment][Camera] - Players can view through both small and large wall smokes by adjusting their camera angle.
[Placeables][Abilities] - All ability objects can be placed on water
[Audio][Weapons][Clawzi] - Quickly tapping on Clawzi instead of holding down 'LMB' breaks the sound
[Legionnaire][ADS][Secondary][HUD] - Swapping from secondary to Legionnaire while in ADS will display the charged shot at 150%
[Legionnaire][ADS] - The crosshair ammo count remains static even after firing Legionnaire weapon
[Sentinel][ADS][Secondary][HUD] - Switching to a secondary while in Sentinel ADS will cause the crosshairs to overlap
[UI][Health Bar][Sentinel] - The player's name and health bar appear oversized when aiming down sights with weapons.
[AFK System] - Inactivity notice can only be cleared by moving
[AFK System] - Players cannot see the inactivity notification while in the character select screen
[Game Modes][Stronghold][UI] - Objective Status does not update from Contested to Overtime when reaching 99% without additional player input
[Stronghold][Area 2][Render] - Map is not rendered behind the ships in Area 2
[Fishball][Characters] - Throwing ball and jumping at the same time will launch the player into the air
[Backfill][Fishball][HUD] - Joining Fishball round during sudden death will not show the match progress
[Fishball] - Players can catch the ball only if the throw was aimed at their head making it hard to pass during gameplay
[Fishball][Neo Tokyo] - Players unable to throw Fishball while standing next to Walls
[Game Mode][Fishball] - Players can score a goal through the wood slat wall
[Matchmaking] - 'Ready up' buttons remains in 'Game Found' state after backing to menu from a game
[Custom Lobbies] - When entering a custom lobby game with less than 12 players the 'Waiting For Players' message will appear before the warm-up phase
[Custom Lobby][Penalty][Matchmaking] - Joining an established team in custom lobby while having penalty will restrict lobby matchmaking
[Online] [Custom] - Penalty prompt appears in the Reconnecting to the Custom Server after leaving the match
[Penalty System] - Player gets penalty after first game leave even if the notification mentions getting a warning
[Persistence][Player Stats][Career Page] - Win/Loss ratio is displaying the damage blocked value
[Crash][Custom Lobby] - Creating a new custom lobby then immediately joining an existing one while yours is creating crashes the client
[Addons][UI/UX] - Selecting a single slot addon will display the slot under a 3 slot addon even if an addon is installed.
[Addons][UI/UX] - Scrolling through the addons added using autofill with 'Bloodlust' causes them to disappear from the list
[UI][Main Menu] - Home Screen interface takes too long to load after leaving a server
[Party][UI] - Host has no Leave button after creating a party
There is no option to switch the game from one monitor to another if you have multiple monitors.
[Key Bindings] - Keybinds are not removed from other actions when rebinding the same key allowing abilities to be used at the same time
[Pilot][UI/UX] - Recharge meter does not receive 2-second boost per Peashooter hit on enemy players during the first 5 seconds
[Scoreboard][Backfill] - Stats reset upon reconnecting to match after a crash
[UI/UX][Scoreboard][EOR] - Holding 'TAB' during the slow-mo at EOR causes the in-game scoreboard to remain stuck at the end of a session
